This is a pretty straight forward post. It’s one and only point is that you must monitor your online profiles regularly. Here’s why:
(1) To watch out for reviews or comments that require your attention
(2) To verify the info in your profiles continues to stay accurate
(3) To learn from and understand the sentiment of customers about your business
Get yourself in the habit of a regular monitoring schedule or this will fall by the wayside. Don’t let that happen. For sites that have a lot of user generated content, monitor your profile daily. In fact, you should probably tweak your profile settings to get email alerts when someone writes about your business. Typically it’s only a few emails a week. The last thing you want is to get caught off guard by a negative review. If you are worried about inbox clutter, you can set up a separate email for this or set up a rule that sends such emails to a special folder.
Time commitment: 15-20 minutes a day if no negative reviews appear.
For sites with low traffic, checking your profile once a month to confirm the info is still accurate and nothing out of the ordinary has happened should be plenty.
Time commitment: 1 hour per month
I try but there are lots of other fires to put out as well. I like the idea of regular schedules. Will give it a try.
